What?
Sometimes we assume that students automatically have the foundational skills they need to succeed in life.
But how can they develop these skills unless we teach them?
This five-week course helps students identify and apply key skills:
- What am I doing now?
- What is my favorite style of learning?
- How can I focus my learning on my strengths?
Once students have identified their strengths and weakness, they set goals:
- What are my priorities?
- What do I want to accomplish in 1 year? in 5 years?
- How can I set mileposts to help me reach those goals?
To help students achieve their goals, they will create daily habits:
- How will I spend my time this week?
- How can I break an overwhelming task into small chunks?
- How do I keep track of all my responsibilities?
Students will also learn how to make their learning time more effective:
- What distractions can I eliminate?
- How can I take meaningful notes while the teacher is talking?
- How do I successfully take a test?
